Dr. Jann Cornels advises start-ups and established companies of various sizes on advertising, IT and data protection law, e-commerce and intellectual property (copyright, trademark and design law). He represents clients in these areas of law in court and in official proceedings, in particular in data protection law matters (so-called privacy litigation). He regularly conducts extensive (contract) negotiations for our clients.
One of Dr. Jann Cornels' main areas of expertise are the legal issues surrounding digital business models, online and data-driven marketing, and software development and distribution. In the case of new technological developments, such as AI modelling, he provides support in implementing them in a legally compliant manner.
His clients include in particular PR, communication, digital and advertising agencies and other players in the advertising industry. In addition, companies from the technology sector, consumer goods industry, logistics and the health care sector rely on his advice.
Prior to joining FECHNER Attorneys at Law, he worked in the field of intellectual property law at one of the leading international law firms.
Dr. Jann Cornels has extensive teaching experience. Among other things, he teaches on "Legal Aspects of Entrepreneurship" in the Master Program "Digital Business and Strategy" at the ESCP Berlin. He is a member of the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property e.V. (GRUR) and the German Society for Law and Informatics e.V. (DGRI).
