Britta Klingberg is an Associate Partner at FECHNER Rechtsanwälte and has been working as an attorney in the field of intellectual and industrial property rights since 2004. After more than 10 years of working with an internationally renowned IP boutique as well as being an in-house lawyer responsible for all matters of Intellectual Property and E-Commerce for fashion company TOM TAILOR she joined FECHNER Rechtsanwälte. Britta Klingberg is a specialist lawyer for intellectual property law (Fachanwältin für gewerblichen Rechtsschutz).
Britta Klingberg studied law in Osnabruck and Hanover where she completed her first state exam in 2000. During her subsequent LL.M. studies at Queen Mary College of the University of London as well as the legal clerkship in Dusseldorf she focused on commercial and intellectual property law. She is a specialist lawyer for intellectual property law (Fachanwältin für gewerblichen Rechtsschutz).
Thanks to her experiences of many years Britta Klingberg can draw upon profound expertise in the fields of German and international trademark law, copyright and design law, competition and advertising law, publishing law as well as internet, domain and e-commerce law.
For her German and international clients Britta Klingberg develops global filing strategies in particular for trademarks and designs and has extensive practical knowledge in the management of world-wide IP portfolios as well as in the areas of IP clearing / clearance searches and risk management. She renders legal and strategic support for the development and launch of new trademarks and products.
Her field of activity also comprises drafting complex contracts (e.g. license, publishing, agency agreements, non-disclosure agreements) and the enforcement and defense – in court as well as out-of-court – of her client’s rights. Britta Klingberg has extensive experience and practice in negotiations and litigation in the area of intellectual property law before the German District Courts and Courts of Appeal as well as before the European Courts up to the European Court of Justice, the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), the German Patent- and Trademark office (DPMA), the Federal Patent Court, in domain dispute resolution matters before the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center and the ADR Court for eu.domains. Moreover, she develops and implements effective global strategies against product piracy and parallel imports.
Britta Klingberg gives in-house trainings for designers und brand developers on topics such as liability of agencies and the legal aspects concerning the development and launch of new products and trade marks. Britta Klingberg regularly authors publications in law journals and was mentioned in the 2013 and 2014 issues of „Kanzleien in Deutschland – Deutsche Wirtschaftsanwälte“ of Nomos Publishing House. Furthermore, she is a lecturer in specialist courses for intellectual property law (Fachanwaltslehrgang).
